Evangelism and Social Responsibilities are
major tasks of this Centre. We recognise the two-fold mandate
given to us by the Lord.
1) Go ye into the whole world
and make disciples. We do this through preaching and teaching.
(Kerygma and Didache)
2) To love our neighbours as
ourselves we do this through practical friendship and
care.
Friendship and Care
A group of volunteers are divided into four groups with a
group leader for each and a coordinator go into the community
to assist people and offer friendship and care for those who
may be in need of emotional, physical and spiritual support.
Supporting the homeless
The work of the Centre involves preparation and distribution
of food, clothing and support to homeless people. This work
allows people living on the streets to access facilities for
learning as well as empowering them through confidence building
and support to help make the transition back into mainstream
society.
Provision of respite
Facilities and specific sessions for the homeless will be
held in the Centre with an eventual target of sleeping facilities.
Counselling and advice centre
Using the existing expertise of several agencies such as housing,
legal, benefits etc this Centre aims to bring together all
these agencies under one roof holding surgeries on a regular
basis for local residents to access. The Centre will explore
areas of teenage pregnancy and family reconciliation services.
To evangelise is so to present
Christ Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit, that men shall
come to put their trust in God through him to accept Him as
their Saviour, and serve him as their king in the fellowship
of his Church.

work of the Church (C10, 1918) page 25.) William Temple.
The work of the evangelist thus ends into nurturing of the
new believer to mature in the local Church. Our ministry has
in place a well-organised way of introducing the new comers
to the fellowship of the Church.
